"Windows"
2018 Best in Show

filmmaker: Jason lee
country: usa
award:
    2018 timelapse film festival best-in-show
1st place - documentary / social commentary category

Filmmakers Note: Windows is an experimental film exploring the concept of security and surveillance. The visual tone is inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper and Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window".

An open window becomes an invitation to look inside—but who is watching? In the digital world, our private lives are being shared with others, and it's not always being shared voluntarily. Fragments of data are collected, patterns are recorded, our habits are on display.

"ReflectionVoid"
2nd Place Overall

filmmaker: lance page
COUNTRY: USA
AWARD:
   2nd place overall
1st place / humans and nature category

Filmmakers note: After dusk in the high desert, as the sky quickly darkens, a lone hiker stumbles across a window into another world. As the man approaches the portal, he is met with his own reflection and we suddenly sink into the ReflectionVOID.

"A Taste of New York"
3rd Place Overall

FILMMAKER: Peter Jablonowski
COUNTRY: Austria
AWARD:
   3rd place overall
1st place - living in the city category

Filmmakers Note: In September 2016 we visited this awesome city to try out some new time lapse stuff. It took us 10 days, a lot of burgers and one helicopter ride to produce this video. 10 days is very little time to discover this city of endless opportunities, so we hardly slept anything and shot day and night for this time lapse film. The city that never sleeps indeed!

"Arena"
4th Place Overall

FILMMAKER: paraic mc gloughlin
COUNTRY: ireland
AWARD:
   4th place overall
   1st place experimental category

Filmmakers note: A brief look at the earth from above, based on the shapes we make, the game of life, our playing ground - Arena.

Our top 4 winners receive a Pluto Trigger!
